Girl in the Lens has moved!!

www.girlinthelens.com

For anyone that’s still following Girl in the Lens at our WordPress domain on Bloglovin, RSS or email, I just wanted to shoot out a post to let you know that we’ve permanently moved to girlinthelens.com, as well as given the blog a gorgeous new look! If you go to the old WordPress domain, you’ll be redirected automatically to our new site. I realise that this doesn’t help people who only read the blog through Bloglovin, RSS or email updates, so I wanted to send out this post. Here’s the link to our new Bloglovin page if you want to stay a follower that way. On the new blog location we’ve got links for all the other following methods. I hope you guys choose to stay with us, the blog has had some really exciting collaborations with brands lately and Callum’s pictures have been getting even better 🙂 and let us know what you think of the new look!

We hope to see you over at girlinthelens.com!

MOVING TIME!

Moving

Hi everyone 🙂 As you all know, Callum and I have been working on a new look for the blog, and it’s finally time to unveil it! We’ve headed over to girlinthelens.com so it’s even easier to access and has a lovely new look with all the same content. I hope you guys like it!

You’ll have to subscribe again to receive new posts from the blog – a bit of a faff but couldn’t get round it I’m afraid. You can choose from a number of following options on the right sidebar. I’d recommend following by email as we’re still working on getting the bloglovin link up at the moment, should just be a few days.

Let me know what you think of the new look!

coat: Hollister, jumper: vintage, trousers: Maison Scotch, hat: River Island, scarf: ASOS, boots: Schuh

It’s still snowing here! Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing to be honest – yes it looks lovely, but it’s so cold and annoying when you’re trying to get things done. Anyway, it’s definitely a beautiful backdrop to outfit photos! I’m sorry I’m so wrapped up here but I’m so scared of the cold (I blame the Chinese genes) and it is freeeezing at the moment, so I kept myself warm in these pictures with my trusty panda hat, favourite new coat from Hollister and cargo trousers from Maison Scotch I got in the ASOS sale. The stars are so cute, and they look like little snowflakes here.

As if we needed another social media site to waste all our hours away on, now there’s Pinterest. It’s like being a kid in a candy shop – everywhere you look there are beautiful images, and it’s so easy to just repin what you like to your own boards. On my account I’ve got three at the moment – a fashion one, a beauty one (make up and hair), a home and garden one and an inspiration one (things to live by). It’d be cool if they set up a service whereby you could get notebook covers, framed pictures and even wallpapers decorated with your pins – I’d definitely decorate one of my bedroom walls with it.

Let me know your Pinterest account if you have one so I can follow!

I Want it Wednesday – Mixed Up Prints

Topshop Printed Tops

Mixed Prints Outfits

1: Topshop Aztec Latino Suntop

2: Topshop Animal Border Vest

3: Topshop Bright Animal Cami

Outfits: see here for details of each item

Loving the whole Aztec/Navajo themes going on for SS12, especially the creative prints that we’re seeing as a result. It’s a bit brash, and a bit of an eye-ache, but it’s cool and fun and young. Mixing up prints is going to be big, so don’t be afraid, just play around with your prints and see what works for you. I’ve picked three great printed tees from Topshop to get started with (cause as usual they’re bang on trend and affordable)  and then made a print-crazy outfit with each – give it a go!

More pictures that are inspiring me. Loving rough textures and casual, boyish sexiness at the moment (well, always really).

Outfit – Checked Shirt and Paisley Culottes

Checked Shirt and Paisley Culottes

shirt: Topshop, culottes: ASOS, cuff: ASOS, earrings: a present

This shirt is one of my go-tos for easy wearing, so I wanted to mix it up a bit. Instead of pairing it with trousers or leather shorts as I usually do I tried it with these cute paisley culottes. I’m really happy with the mix of patterns, and the shirt tones down the girliness of the paisley print. This outfit is a bit skimpy to wear out at the moment though. Can’t believe how cold it is! I’m counting down the days till summer 🙂

I Want it Wednesday – Cute Enough to Eat

Lacoste Mid L!VE range - pastel trainers

If my mint jeans outfit last week hadn’t tipped you off, I’m a total sucker for pastels. Plus, if Chuck Bass says it’s right, who’s to argue? So I’m loving that this SS candy-coloured everything is huge. First on my pastel necessities list are Lacoste’s ice cream toned trainers – amazing for dressing down a winter outfit while it’s still cold out and then wearing with tiny shorts and fringed tees in summer. The yellow ones are my current favourite. If the sun ever decides to show it’s face again here in the UK then they’ll also look amazing with a tan.

Republic Pink Ombre Jeans

Then we have these amazing pink ombre jeans from Republic. I’ve been wanting faded pink jeans for ages but I love the ombre effect on these, it’s quirky and would look so good with oversized tees and colourful wedges.

Topshop Pastel Mint Green Bag

And finally I had to share this pale, mint green bag from Topshop. Cute as a button and perfect for hazy summer days swanning around a park in tiny denim cut offs, a crop top and strappy sandals.
