Christmas Gifts For Her

Christ Gifts For Her

In order from the top down (and left to right within a row):

French Connection Juines Platform Heels

Links of London bracelets

Skagen Women’s Rose Gold Stretch Mesh Band Watch

Esprit Multicolored Bauble Necklace

Accessorize 70s Resin Chandelier Earrings

Benefit I’m Glam Therefore I Am Kit

MAC Tartan Tale Eyeshadow

Rebecca Minkoff Mac Cluth

Even though I’m still not feeling very Christmassy (I blame work – it’s my first year working full time over Christmas!), I thought it’s about time I do a couple of Christmas gift guides – one for presents for the women in your life, and one for the boys. Of course it’s fashion and beauty focused, and really this ‘for her’ one is more of a ‘for me (dear boyfriend please see this list)’! But this is my pick of some great fashion and beauty presents that any girl is sure to love, whether it’s your blogger friend, best friend, female colleague, mum or even grandma. Hey, they’re stylish ladies too!

If I had to pick my favourite item from all the above it would have to be the Rebecca Minkoff clutch, the most perfect little bag I’ve seen lately. Though it’s a bit on the pricey side, it’d be a worthwhile investment. For smaller budgets, I’d go for the gorgeous Skagen rose gold watch. That watch would literally go with anything, and it’d be lovely with an engraving for a more personal gift.

Win – Illamasqua Lipstick Giveaway

Dear blog readers, it’s high time I thanked you for your wonderful support over these last few months. I’ve passed 50 followers and have had over 6,000 page views since I started this blog in September, and I’m so psyched about that. So I went out and bought a lovely lipstick from the wonderful Illamasqua range. The colour I chose was Corrupt, a beautiful, bright pink that will look lovely on all skin tones. (I was also just a little bit inspired by this). It’s got a matt finish, which I felt would be more versataile as you could always slick over some gloss if you wanted to deepen the colour or create a wet-look.

Green Tattooed Nails

Andrea Fulerton NailsAndrea Fulerton Nails

This was my first try of nail tattoos, and I have to say I’m definitely a convert now. They’re so easy to put on – you just stick them onto unpainted or painted nails and then slick a top coat over them to seal them in. I used Andrea Fulerton products from the nail goody bag I got at the Stylist shoot. I love the texture they give to your nails and they’re pretty cool looking! What do you guys think? Do you use nail tattoos and where’s the best place to get them?

Also, does anyone have any tips on taking pictures of nails? It’s surprisingly difficult!

Stylist Beauty Shoot

It was so difficult waiting to share these photos with you! A few weeks ago me and Callum headed down to Hoxton to the lovely Jonny Storey’s studio for a beauty shoot with Stylist magazine. If you live in London you’ll no doubt have seen issues being handed out at tube station entrances/exits, though often by the time I’ve got there they’ve run out of copies. No wonder as the magazine is completely awesome, and amazingly – completely free!

Anyway, for their 100th issue, they had readers create the entire magazine, and I got chosen as one of four girls to test out some smart new beauty products and have a photoshoot to show the results. I had an amazing day – all the stylists and Stylist staff were great, and it was lovely to spend time with the other  girls. There was also A LOT of food, so that kept me and Callum happy!

I’m so glad I can share the pictures from the day now because not only was it an incredible experience, but also I really think some of these pictures are Callum’s best ones yet. In fact, I’m thinking of changing WordPress theme to have bigger pictures, as this small size at the moment doesn’t do his photographs justice … what do you think?

To read the feature either pick up a copy of the magazine if you’re in London or have a look at the online version here. I think the reader issue was a really cool initiative. After all, readers know what they want to see in a magazine, and it also gave many of us a chance to experience the workings of Stylist. Although there was a bit of an awkward moment today on the tube where someone sitting opposite with a Stylist open in their hands was staring suspiciously at me …

Andrea Fulerton Nails Goody Bag

Andrea Fulerton Nails

A few weekends ago I was lucky enough to do a beauty shoot with Stylist for their 100th edition, made entirely by readers. And as if getting your hair, nails and make up done, spending a day in a cool Hoxton apartment, hanging out chatting about beauty, meeting the Stylist beauty team AND having an amazing home cooked meal by photographer Jonny’s PA was not enough, we got these amazing goody bags from our nail artist, Andrea Fulerton.

Now this is just ridiculous. There’s definitely in excess of £70 worth of stuff in here. This treat could not have come at a better time as I’ve been so impressed by nail geniuses such as Lilly Pebbles and Emily’s Nail Files that I’ve decided to try out some nail art of my own, and this bag of Andrea Fulerton goodies is definitely going to get me off to a good start. How awesome are those skull and cross-bones nail tattoos!

So check back soon as I should have some cool new nails to show off … Also, I’ll be posting about the actual shoot once the magazine’s out next week. Can’t wait to share it with you all – and be sure to look out for a copy of Stylist next week too!
