I Want it Wednesday – Mixed Up Prints

Topshop Printed Tops

Mixed Prints Outfits

1: Topshop Aztec Latino Suntop

2: Topshop Animal Border Vest

3: Topshop Bright Animal Cami

Outfits: see here for details of each item

Loving the whole Aztec/Navajo themes going on for SS12, especially the creative prints that we’re seeing as a result. It’s a bit brash, and a bit of an eye-ache, but it’s cool and fun and young. Mixing up prints is going to be big, so don’t be afraid, just play around with your prints and see what works for you. I’ve picked three great printed tees from Topshop to get started with (cause as usual they’re bang on trend and affordable)  and then made a print-crazy outfit with each – give it a go!

Hi girls, just wanted to share a few pics from this cute little campaign with you all. It’s super simple  but super sweet, and the cotton candy colours and bright prints are perfect for the upcoming (I hope, you can never tell with England) Spring. Also – I need that huge hoop chain earring in picture 2! It’s the sort of thing that would look cheap in both ears but in one it looks so cool.

A Weekend with Wonderbra

Bella Sorella - Tartan Harem Pants

Last month I won a Facebook competition with Unmissable and Wonderbra, so me and one of my best friends got to have an awesome weekend of girly treats all for free! We stayed overnight in the lovely Cavendish hotel (full English breakfast anyone?) and spent Saturday having a makeover at TOWIE’s Lydia Bright’s store Bella Sorella (I got the tartan harem pants in the photo above as well as two a jacket I’ll be featuring in an outfit post soon) before heading over to Mahiki for a lot of drinking and a lot of rugby men (it was the Saracens’ Christmas party). Oh, and we were chauffeur-driven everywhere. Yep, we were truly spoilt. Of course I forgot my camera, so I didn’t manage to get any pictures over the weekend, but here’s a video Wonderbra made while we were at Lydia’s shop:

It’s great to see Karlie doing something a bit more youthful after her Mario Testino shoot. These campaign shots are gorgeous, and the styling is so young and easy, it’s beautifully refreshing. Definite case of ‘I want every outfit’ here.

I am so in love with this modern, bohemian take on the Wild Wild West. Wildfox have always had that urban, casual cool with a rocky edge, so it’s great to see it translate into this sort of setting, and that they can work with girly, peachy colours too. it’s one of the best lookbooks I’ve seen for SS12. Bring on summer.

I Want it Wednesday – LOVE Dresses

Love Clothes

Love Dresses

source: LOVE

I must be the last blogger to jump on the LOVE bandwagon, but somehow I’ve managed to bypass this brand until now. Well I’m making up for lost time and stocking up on their dresses in particular, with their gorgeous prints and floaty fabrics. They look very feminine and girly, but I love how they can be toughened up for a more rocky, boho look a la Native Fox and  Pure Lovers.

The clothes are pretty simple but sometimes that’s exactly what you want, and there’s enough interesting prints and fabrics to stop the clothes from becoming too simple. I also love the mix of evening and day-wear aesthetics – dresses like this tutu-skirted red number work just as well for a relaxed day look with a parka and wellies as they would for upcoming Christmas and New Year parties.

What do you think? 🙂

I Want it Wednesday – Rocket Dog Wedge Ankle Boots

Rocket Dog LEX boiled wool red

Rocket Dog LIFT OFF slicker patent black

source: http://www.rocketdog.co.uk/

When I was 15 I used to work at a big high street shoe shop chain, and wow were Rocket Dogs popular back then. They were the crazy trainers with all sorts of colours and scribbles all over them, and coloured laces of course, and my 15 year old self was completely in love with them.

Well, I’ve grown up a bit since then, and thought I’d grown out of Rocket Dog as well, but then these beautiful boots came to my attention. As if I wasn’t in love with ankle boots enough! The gorgeous wedge shape and cool colours and patterns of these boots definitely make them worth the £49.99 price tag. And how awesome is the wool texture of the red Lex boots! It’s a really original design feature that stands them apart from the hordes of ankle boots lining store shelves.

I love all three, and even though the red Lex boots are my favourite design-wise, I think I’ll be going for the black patent Lift Offs. They’d go with pretty much anything in my wardrobe and are perfect for this season’s fetish trend.

Another designer that does casual boyish cool so well. I am in love with all these pieces in the above A.Y. Not Dead looks. How awesome are those two-toned red leather trousers, that white satiny jumpsuit, the silver jumper, that white leather jacket, the – no, I just love them all equally. And the shoes are excellent too. That’s some awesome H2T styling right there.

I Want it Wednesday – Deadly Ponies Mr Safari Hobo Bag

Deadly Ponies Mr Safari Hobo Bag

source: http://www.spanishmossshop.com/

I’ve been on the hunt for a slouchy, fur-trimmed bag and think I may have found it in this Deadly Ponies beauty.  I am in love with the detailing and how it all comes together so effortlessly. This bag is pretty trans-seasonal too – it would be great in winter with leather trousers and jumpers and then in summer with little shorts and fringed tops.

Topshop Party Collection AW11

*Schwwwwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff …* (fades into nothing) – that’s the sound of my poor bank balance now Topshop have brought out this completely awesome Party collection.

The juxtaposition of dark and light outfits, and the gorgeous textures of fur and leather have really created an instantly recognisable and gorgeous collection. I also love the blue accents – it’s like the candy-coloured hair of models and brings a quirky flavour to otherwise quite simple looks. Not sure where I stand on the sequins though – I like how they look but they’re usually so awkward and difficult to wear. That’s small beans though. The collection as a whole is pure party goodness – and a lot of these pieces would translate well into everyday wear too.

Sorry bank balance. But I just can’t say no!
