I Want it Wednesday – Mixed Up Prints

Topshop Printed Tops

Mixed Prints Outfits

1: Topshop Aztec Latino Suntop

2: Topshop Animal Border Vest

3: Topshop Bright Animal Cami

Outfits: see here for details of each item

Loving the whole Aztec/Navajo themes going on for SS12, especially the creative prints that we’re seeing as a result. It’s a bit brash, and a bit of an eye-ache, but it’s cool and fun and young. Mixing up prints is going to be big, so don’t be afraid, just play around with your prints and see what works for you. I’ve picked three great printed tees from Topshop to get started with (cause as usual they’re bang on trend and affordable)  and then made a print-crazy outfit with each – give it a go!

I Want it Wednesday – Cute Enough to Eat

Lacoste Mid L!VE range - pastel trainers

If my mint jeans outfit last week hadn’t tipped you off, I’m a total sucker for pastels. Plus, if Chuck Bass says it’s right, who’s to argue? So I’m loving that this SS candy-coloured everything is huge. First on my pastel necessities list are Lacoste’s ice cream toned trainers – amazing for dressing down a winter outfit while it’s still cold out and then wearing with tiny shorts and fringed tees in summer. The yellow ones are my current favourite. If the sun ever decides to show it’s face again here in the UK then they’ll also look amazing with a tan.

Republic Pink Ombre Jeans

Then we have these amazing pink ombre jeans from Republic. I’ve been wanting faded pink jeans for ages but I love the ombre effect on these, it’s quirky and would look so good with oversized tees and colourful wedges.

Topshop Pastel Mint Green Bag

And finally I had to share this pale, mint green bag from Topshop. Cute as a button and perfect for hazy summer days swanning around a park in tiny denim cut offs, a crop top and strappy sandals.

I Want it Wednesday – Studded Shoes

Studded Shoes

1. Jeffrey Campbell Elegant Stud Loafers

2. Marc by Marc Jacobs Studded Platform Booties

3. Diesel Exposure Magnete Metal Stud Lace Ups

Obsessed with everything studs right now – studded jackets, studded bags – and studded shoes are one of the easiest ways to edge up an outfit. I usually think of studded shoes as boots, but Topshop have spiked up flats with their now everywhere Vectra3 flats. I’m also surprised by how much I love these Diesel trainers. They could have gone a bit too bling but the colours and materials have kept them cool.

I Want it Wednesday – Red Chanel Jacket

Red Chanel Jacket - Alessandra Codinha (Satorialist)

source: http://www.thesartorialist.com/

In love with this red Chanel jacket WWD reporter Alessandra Codinha is wearing. I love her teaming of it with tiny little shorts, as it’s one of those pieces that could style old (she said she stole it off her mum). It would smarten up any outfit without actually making it smart, if you know what I mean, so I’d wear it with a high-waisted leather skirt, loose-fitting crop top and little black ankle boots. Doubt I’ll be able to find this exact piece but I’ll be on the lookout for some similar jackets. There’s this McQ blazer, but it’s a little boring – I love the white and black lining on the Chanel jacket.

I Want it Wednesday – Ear Cuffs

Ear Cuffs1. Urban Outfitters hanging chain ear cuff

2. Amazon ball and chain ear cuff

3. Amazon feather ear cuff

4. Topshop multichain ear cuff

They’re a quick fix to add a rocker edge to any outfit without losing femininity and elegance. I prefer silver chainy ones but feather ones are pretty cool too for a more bohemian spin. I’d wear them all only in one ear with a cool stud in the other.

I Want it Wednesday – Fringe Boots

B Brian Atwood Pembra BootsSam Edelman Louie BootsChristian Louboutin Rom Boots

I’ve really got into fringing on clothes lately. I always thought it was a bit shabby looking and a danger hazard (those frayed ends could so get caught on stuff) but after getting this Nasty Gal top I’ve been turned around. So next on my fringe list are boots. They add a little cowboy edge to any outfit and are great for summer too with denim pieces.

I’m in love with the B Brian Atwood Pembra boots. The block heel is really cool and the almost purple-tinted colour is just beautiful. The Sam Edelman Louie boots are also a great piece as they’re so versatile and the low heel makes them super wearable. Plus, they’re a great price – unlike the Christian Louboutin Rom boots, which are way out of my monetary league. But they’re so gorgeous and I love their boho charm, so maybe they’re one to save up for. It’ll only take a few years after all …

I Want it Wednesday – Deadly Ponies Mr Safari Hobo Bag

Deadly Ponies Mr Safari Hobo Bag

source: http://www.spanishmossshop.com/

I’ve been on the hunt for a slouchy, fur-trimmed bag and think I may have found it in this Deadly Ponies beauty.  I am in love with the detailing and how it all comes together so effortlessly. This bag is pretty trans-seasonal too – it would be great in winter with leather trousers and jumpers and then in summer with little shorts and fringed tops.

I Want it Wednesday – Nasty Gal Oversized Jumpers

Nothing is more sexy than a girl in an oversized jumper, her hair thrown carelessly around her face and perhaps a hint of shoulder and cleavage showing. Nasty Gal is the bomb for this look. I love their styling, it’s the best for an online retailer I’ve seen, and I gotta try those gorgeous berry lips.

I Want it Wednesday – Balmain Leather Trousers

Balmain Leather Trouserssource: http://www.balmain.com/

God they’re amazing. I have been searching for a high street alternative for years but nothing beats the look and feel of real leather stretched over skin. I did find a great pair of faux leather trousers from H&M last year (similar to these ones out now), but they ripped and I haven’t been able to get another pair as I’m now inbetween sizes. Please tell me if you know where I can get some cheap Balmain-esque alternatives! I will be buying a real pair though when I start making the monies … but that might be a while!

I Want it Wednesday – Armour Rings

Armour Rings

1: Topshop rhinestone ring

2: ASOS cut-out articulated ring

3: Low Luv gold-plated ring

4: Vivienne Westwood ring

There’s nothing like an armour ring to toughen up a look and inject a bit of cool into any outfit. I’m a bit lax about rings – they’re not always very practical and for me, no matter how amazing something looks, if its a pain in the ass to wear then I don’t wanna know. But with the bend in the middle, these armour rings are actually pretty comfortable. Vivienne Westwood’s ones are the cream of the crop, but the cheaper alternatives from Topshop, ASOS and Low Luv will still look hot on your fingers.
