I Want it Wednesday – Studded Shoes

Studded Shoes

1. Jeffrey Campbell Elegant Stud Loafers

2. Marc by Marc Jacobs Studded Platform Booties

3. Diesel Exposure Magnete Metal Stud Lace Ups

Obsessed with everything studs right now – studded jackets, studded bags – and studded shoes are one of the easiest ways to edge up an outfit. I usually think of studded shoes as boots, but Topshop have spiked up flats with their now everywhere Vectra3 flats. I’m also surprised by how much I love these Diesel trainers. They could have gone a bit too bling but the colours and materials have kept them cool.

Pink Leather Gillet and Buckle Shoes

Karolina Kurkova Elle France December 11

The title of this post says it all, really. I love this leather gillet – not often you see one in blush pink, and it’s rare that such a colour can look so cool, tough and modern. These Balenciaga buckle boots are also totally awesome. Brown and black is a difficult combination to get right but these boots are a testament to how good they can be together when done right.

Christmas Gifts For Her

Christ Gifts For Her

In order from the top down (and left to right within a row):

French Connection Juines Platform Heels

Links of London bracelets

Skagen Women’s Rose Gold Stretch Mesh Band Watch

Esprit Multicolored Bauble Necklace

Accessorize 70s Resin Chandelier Earrings

Benefit I’m Glam Therefore I Am Kit

MAC Tartan Tale Eyeshadow

Rebecca Minkoff Mac Cluth

Even though I’m still not feeling very Christmassy (I blame work – it’s my first year working full time over Christmas!), I thought it’s about time I do a couple of Christmas gift guides – one for presents for the women in your life, and one for the boys. Of course it’s fashion and beauty focused, and really this ‘for her’ one is more of a ‘for me (dear boyfriend please see this list)’! But this is my pick of some great fashion and beauty presents that any girl is sure to love, whether it’s your blogger friend, best friend, female colleague, mum or even grandma. Hey, they’re stylish ladies too!

If I had to pick my favourite item from all the above it would have to be the Rebecca Minkoff clutch, the most perfect little bag I’ve seen lately. Though it’s a bit on the pricey side, it’d be a worthwhile investment. For smaller budgets, I’d go for the gorgeous Skagen rose gold watch. That watch would literally go with anything, and it’d be lovely with an engraving for a more personal gift.

I Want it Wednesday – Rocket Dog Wedge Ankle Boots

Rocket Dog LEX boiled wool red

Rocket Dog LIFT OFF slicker patent black

Rocket Dog LIFT OFF classy cat natural

When I was 15 I used to work at a big high street shoe shop chain, and wow were Rocket Dogs popular back then. They were the crazy trainers with all sorts of colours and scribbles all over them, and coloured laces of course, and my 15 year old self was completely in love with them.

Well, I’ve grown up a bit since then, and thought I’d grown out of Rocket Dog as well, but then these beautiful boots came to my attention. As if I wasn’t in love with ankle boots enough! The gorgeous wedge shape and cool colours and patterns of these boots definitely make them worth the £49.99 price tag. And how awesome is the wool texture of the red Lex boots! It’s a really original design feature that stands them apart from the hordes of ankle boots lining store shelves.

I love all three, and even though the red Lex boots are my favourite design-wise, I think I’ll be going for the black patent Lift Offs. They’d go with pretty much anything in my wardrobe and are perfect for this season’s fetish trend.

I Want it Wednesday – Fringe Boots

B Brian Atwood Pembra BootsSam Edelman Louie BootsChristian Louboutin Rom Boots

I’ve really got into fringing on clothes lately. I always thought it was a bit shabby looking and a danger hazard (those frayed ends could so get caught on stuff) but after getting this Nasty Gal top I’ve been turned around. So next on my fringe list are boots. They add a little cowboy edge to any outfit and are great for summer too with denim pieces.

I’m in love with the B Brian Atwood Pembra boots. The block heel is really cool and the almost purple-tinted colour is just beautiful. The Sam Edelman Louie boots are also a great piece as they’re so versatile and the low heel makes them super wearable. Plus, they’re a great price – unlike the Christian Louboutin Rom boots, which are way out of my monetary league. But they’re so gorgeous and I love their boho charm, so maybe they’re one to save up for. It’ll only take a few years after all …

Day to Night: Topshop Adorn Gold Heel Ankle Boots

Topshop Adorn Gold Heel Ankle Boots OutfitTopshop Adorn Gold Heel Ankle Boots Outfit

I bought these boots last week and I am already in love.  I love ankle boots for their versatility and practicality, but the gold heel on these adds a little edge that takes this pair right to the top of my books. They make the day to night transition so, so easy. Get them, NOW.

I Want it Wednesday – River Island Shoes

River Island Glitter WedgesRiver Island Ankle Boots River Island Cuff Sandalssource:

I’m really liking River Island’s shoe offerings at the moment. They are timelss shapes and styles that will work across seasons. I’d wear these gorgeous glitter peep toe wedges with a little dress and no accessories – I’d want all the attention on the shoes.

As for the ankle boots, well,  a girl can never have too many ankle boots. Effortlessly cool and great with most outfits, they are one of my favourite shoe styles. These beauties are too gorgeous. I love the deep, green-blue colour and woven detailing. They come in brown and black too but those colours seem too flat and boring compared to these ones.

And last but not least, the black ankle cuff sandals. Elegant in shape and colour, but with a little bit of cool thrown in with the cuff. These would look awesome with a leather minidress.

Shoe Galleries at Selfridges

It’s like Alice fell through the rabbit hole all over again. London girls everywhere arrived in Wonderland with the opening of the amazing Shoe Galleries at Selfridges last year, and they’re now one year old. I still haven’t been but now I’ve moved to London, the minute I get some time I’ll be going to check it out. There are over 5,000 pairs of shoes from 120 brands, including Tory Burch, Roger Vivier, Stuart Weitzman, Office, River Island and All Saints, so it’s not just designer gear.

Below are some of my favourite boots for winter showcasing at the Galleries, featuring Kurt Geiger, Charlotte Olympia,  Alexander McQueen, Alexandre Birman, Givenchy and Beau Coops:

Outfit: Pink Suede Shoes

Pink Suede Shoes OutfitPink Suede Shoes Outfit

top: ASOS, dress: H&M, shoes: ASOS, necklace: Miss Selfridge

In a pink straddling nude and peachy, these are just colourful enough to stand out and not too bright to be able to go with other strong colours. Who would have thought pink and orange would go together? I like layering swing tops over simple dresses, and the lace in this little gem from ASOS gives an otherwise very simple and almost flat outfit some dimension.
