I Want it Wednesday – Mixed Up Prints

Topshop Printed Tops

Mixed Prints Outfits

1: Topshop Aztec Latino Suntop

2: Topshop Animal Border Vest

3: Topshop Bright Animal Cami

Outfits: see here for details of each item

Loving the whole Aztec/Navajo themes going on for SS12, especially the creative prints that we’re seeing as a result. It’s a bit brash, and a bit of an eye-ache, but it’s cool and fun and young. Mixing up prints is going to be big, so don’t be afraid, just play around with your prints and see what works for you. I’ve picked three great printed tees from Topshop to get started with (cause as usual they’re bang on trend and affordable)  and then made a print-crazy outfit with each – give it a go!

Had to share this beautiful outfit from tuula with you guys (if you haven’t seen it already!) I usually don’t go for such a sophisticated, lady-like style but the gold sequin sleeves and hard, manish accessories give it a really cool, young edge. Perfect.

Seeing Pink

Pink Items

1: Sam & Lavi Pink Kelsie Tank

2: Halston Heritage Gabardine Trench

3: McQ Ankle-Zip Cotton-Blend Pants

4: Alexander mcqueen shoes PINK

5: Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Suede – Antique Pink

6: Asos Upper Arm Cuff With Stretch Shoulder Band And Feather Cluster

7: Marni Knitted wool and brass chain necklace

8: Juicy Couture Leather Charm Cuff Pink One Size

I did an outfit post the other week to show my support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). Well, a girl can never have too much pink, so I thought I’d get together a little pink-spiration of my favourite pink items. It’s not a colour I wear a lot of, I’ll be honest, but it works when used for a pop of colour or with layering of pink tones. Plus, it’s an awesome cause so GET ON IT PEOPLE! Pink it up!

I Want it Wednesday – Metallic Skirts

Metallic Skirts

1: Elizabeth and James Crawford metallic linen-blend skirt

2: Elizabeth And James Full lace mini skirt

3: Robert Rodriguez Sequin And Bead Embellished Silk Skirt

They were all over fashion week. I originally thought them too tacky, too brash. But having seen them being styled with sheer fabrics, neutral colours, sharp tailoring or loose tops, I’ve been converted. These are my favourite three. I’d probably end up using 1 and 2 like I would a normal short skirt – wear a large tee over it for a relaxed, daytime look – but no. 2 would be a cute skirt to pair with an array of tucked in tops for evening adventures.

Designer Crush: Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum Burberry Prorsum Burberry Prorsum Burberry Prorsum source: http://uk.burberry.com/

Forget Burberry London. Burberry Prorsum is where it’s at. More edgy, more inspired, more forward thinking (in my humble opinion). Out of the AW11 collection, their coats are the pieces to watch. If I only wore one coat for the rest of my life it would be the drop waist duffle trench jacket (last pictures). Coats just don’t get better than that. I’d wear it over a tiny dress, black tights and some coloured boots like these Dr Martins. Every single day.

On a different note, their SS12 show at LFW shocked many people with its collection of knits – have a look at it here. Very strange as all the other designers stayed true to the season with pastel colours, floaty textures and lighthearted prints. Oh well. Even if it is a bit weird I still love the collection. Plus, it would be perfectly to fine to wear in SS here in the UK since we pretty much experience winter all year round!

Blogger Envy: Ebba Zingmark

Uggggghhhh she’s just too gorgeous and too stylish. I both love and hate looking at her blog. Hate because it makes me think why can’t I have those clothes and why is my face not exactly like hers, but love because her outfits are a real inspiration. They’re on the right side of cutesy to not be too twee and I love their European flair. Can’t really pinpoint what it is about European countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Belgium and France but they have this aesthetic that runs through their fashion that I really like.

Blogger envy big time.

Designer Crush: Zadig & Voltaire

Zadig & VoltaireZadig & VoltaireZadig & Voltairesource: http://www.zadig-et-voltaire.com/

What is it with French people and dressing well? Old and young, they always seem to be well dressed and sexily confident in their style. Well, it’s no wonder when you’ve got French designers such as Zadig & Voltaire. This label is the baby of Thierry Gillier, who used to work at Yves Saint Laurent, and his collaborator Cecilia Bonstrom. They’re for every girl who feels sexiest in an oversized jumper pulled over skinny jeans and boots (me!). Made a little outfit in the last picture of some of my favourite pieces from their AW11 collection. That’s how I would dress every day if I 1. had money and 2. didn’t find sequinned clothes a real pain in the ass!
