A Weekend with Wonderbra

Bella Sorella

Bella Sorella - Tartan Harem Pants

Last month I won a Facebook competition with Unmissable and Wonderbra, so me and one of my best friends got to have an awesome weekend of girly treats all for free! We stayed overnight in the lovely Cavendish hotel (full English breakfast anyone?) and spent Saturday having a makeover at TOWIE’s Lydia Bright’s store Bella Sorella (I got the tartan harem pants in the photo above as well as two a jacket I’ll be featuring in an outfit post soon) before heading over to Mahiki for a lot of drinking and a lot of rugby men (it was the Saracens’ Christmas party). Oh, and we were chauffeur-driven everywhere. Yep, we were truly spoilt. Of course I forgot my camera, so I didn’t manage to get any pictures over the weekend, but here’s a video Wonderbra made while we were at Lydia’s shop:

New Year’s Resolutions For the Blog

Just a little post to say a) HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!, b) hope you had a lovely time over Christmas, and c) I’ve come up with a couple of New Year’s resolutions for the blog! Here they are:

  • More outfit posts – I always wanted this blog to be mainly a personal style one and very photography heavy. It’s been difficult to do as many outfit posts as I’ve wanted because it’s been getting dark so early, so when I’m back from work the light has gone already. Also, Callum’s been super busy with his MSc, so he hasn’t always been free to take pictures and edit them for me. This will be a difficult resolution to keep I think as I’ll be living apart from Callum most of next year, but we’ll try our best to work around this and make sure that there’s a lot of good outfit posts on the blog.
  • New look – Not the shop, but an actual new look for the blog. We’ve been working on this for the last few weeks, so hopefully it’s going to be launched soon. I’m really trying to give the blog a more distinct identity (to go along with the increased focus on outfit posts).

That’s it, but I’d love to hear from you guys what you’d like to see more (or less) of on the blog! And thanks so much everyone for a great few months at the tail-end of 2011, and here’s to an awesome 2012 🙂

Merry Christmas!

Fashion Merry Christmas

source: http://lyssahumana.tumblr.com/

I’m writing this post in my Christmas pyjamas and long red socks with baubles on, which can only mean one thing – it’s Christmas! I’m so excited about opening our little bundle of presents, having a big fat roast dinner (pigs in blankets ftw) and then sitting around with the family watching children’s films and eating lots of chocolate. I hope you all have a fantastic day and here’s a big Merry Christmas from me and Callum at girlinthelens! See you in the New Year 🙂

Christmas Gifts For Him

Christmas Gifts For Him

In order from the top down (and left to right within a row):

Topman Palladium Brown Hi Nylon Boots

Urban Outfitters Pac-Man Wall Decals

ASOS Black Wrap Around Leather Watch

Urban Outfitters Lomography La Sardinia Flash Camera

Ted Baker Tapeon Belt

Ted Baker Sentral Weekend Bag

Topman Skull Ring

I posted earlier about Christmas gifts for women, and now here’s a few picks for the men. Obviously this list is really skewed by my own sense of style, but some of these items are great for guys of any age, like the Ted Baker belt (my dad would love this). I know the Lomo camera and Pac-Man wall decals aren’t exactly fashion items, they they are so cool I had to put them in the list! The Lomo camera is perfect for a boyfriend or friend who’s into photography, and as a Lomo fan myself, I can say they’re nifty little cameras that are a lot of fun for a break from SLRs. As for the Pac-Man wall decals, well, I’m a sucker for anything that references games, especially retro ones.

I’m pretty excited for Christmas now as all my presents are bought, and it’s the last weekend before I head home and celebrate with the family 🙂 hope you’re all getting geared up for your Christmas holidays too!
